Offshore Future Energy Forum - 2021

On the 25-26th November 2021, the Offshore Future Energy Forum was held in New Plymouth and online. The programme listed several key speakers in attendance, including the Minister of Energy and Resources – Hon Megan Woods, along with other guests and stakeholders.

The topic of discussion was somewhat focused on the government’s new drive and pledge of seriously aiming toward lowering emissions and fully committing to net zero carbon targets – setting out to reach a net zero New Zealand by 2050.

Other topics and panels included Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) updates from Alistair Dutton and international best practices in Offshore Wind development.

This was a very positive event, with great interest being shown and discussed after the comments made by Minister Woods at the top of the event.
