2022 Wind Energy Conference and Offshore Wind Workshop

NZWEA is pleased to confirm that the new date for the 2022 Wind Energy Conference is Wednesday 24 August

This year we're also holding a half day offshore wind workshop on the afternoon of 23 August. Delegates have the option of attending either or both events in person at the InterContinental Hotel in Wellington or joining online.

The decarbonisation of the energy sector, in support of the Government's net zero target, is gathering momentum. With the release of the Emissions Reduction Plan it's all on! The theme for this year's conference is therefore Accelerating the Transformation, building on 2021's theme of Rising to the Challenge.

As with previous years, the 2022 Conference day will comprise four sessions commencing at 8.30am with presentations grouped in each one:

Session 1 - Energy sector, the big picture
Session 2 - Empowering new wind
Session 3 - Innovation
Session 4 - Accelerating the transformation

The level of development interest in offshore wind is also an exciting opportunity for Aotearoa New Zealand. Building on the successful events held by Venture Taranaki and Ara Ake the Offshore Wind Workshop will also comprise four sessions:

Session 1 -Introducing offshore wind
Session 2 - Enabling offshore wind
Session 3 - Wānanga
Session 4 - The panel

Last year's conference saw a great turnout, with over 165 in-person registrations, plus many more joining us online. Given the exceptional outlook for wind energy to enable decarbonisation we are expecting an even higher level of attendance this year. We recommend early registration.

With so much innovation and momentum across the sector, it is set to be an exciting time to share knowledge and network with other industry partners and colleagues, so we look forward to catching up.

Registration for the Conference and Offshore Wind Workshop is now open.  You can register online by following the link here:  2022 Conference and Offshore Wind Workshop Registrations

Please note that registration for in-person attendance includes after conference drinks and dinner.
