Wind Energy Experience
For over 25 years, WSP has been involved in wind farm developments around the globe. From initial site and feasibility assessments, wind resource monitoring and analysis, detailed wind farm design and planning, tendering, selection of technology and suppliers, through to project implementation, construction management and project review. Our extensive experience and expertise covers the full range of professional services required for wind power.
We also have significant experience in providing Owner’s Engineer services for projects across Australia, South Pacific, Asia, UK, Africa and the USA. In addition, we currently hold Lender’s and Independent Engineer roles for financiers and company boards, on numerous projects internationally and in Asia and Australia–Pacific (APAC). Through acting as Owner’s and Lender’s Engineer on wind developments we have witnessed a number of different project development and management strategies on wind farm projects. We have worked on projects with all major WTG suppliers in the Australian / New Zealand market. Through this, and our own experience we have seen what works well, and what does not.
We have experience in the wind energy area via our involvement in many wind developments in New Zealand, Australia and around the globe. Here in Australasia, our WSP office in Melbourne, Australia is our centre of excellence for wind and WSP in New Zealand collaborate with these wind subject matter experts as projects and opportunities present themselves.

Creating a Competitive Advantage
“WSP offers the very best of both worlds; it is a large global organization with a very deep pool of highly skilled resources that has managed to retain the customer and employee-focused culture of smaller consulting companies. At all levels of the organization I have found WSP’s people to be motivated, engaged and energized. We think it’s quite simple – working with WSP gives us a competitive advantage.” Operations Director, Burcote Wind.
