Meridian Energy
Meridian Energy is an integrated renewable energy company and the largest electricity generator in New Zealand, generating power from 100% renewable resources, including four wind farms.

The company retails electricity to more than 270,000 customers by Installation Control Points (ICPs) through its Meridian and Powershop brands.

Meridian owns and operates seven hydro stations and four wind farms in New Zealand, with a fifth, Mill Creek, under construction near Wellington. In Australia, the company owns and operates Mt Millar wind farm in South Australia and is currently constructing Mt Mercer wind farm in Victoria, which is due to be completed by the end of 2014.

Meridian also built CalRENEW-1, the first grid-connected solar farm in California, and further developed its solar expertise by building the first solar farm in Tonga.

The Group employs approximately 820 full-time equivalent employees and has offices in New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

Sustainability is fundamental to Meridian’s operational approach. The company works with organisations to preserve and protect local eco-systems, support local communities through its award-winning Community Fund Programme, and offer customers a range of innovative energy-efficient products and services. Meridian’s operations are certified by Landcare’s Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme (CEMARS).
