NZWEA Board & Chairperson Nominations
Nominations are now open for the New Zealand Wind Energy Association (NZWEA) Board Member & Chairperson positions.
Board Members are elected for 2-year terms, and are responsible for providing effective governance and oversight of NZWEA and overseeing the development and implementation of NZWEA’s Strategic Plan.
In carrying out their role, Board Members must comply with the terms set out in the recently adopted 2025 Constitution. A copy of the 2025 Constitution can be viewed on our website at NZWEA Constitution.
Members ending their 2-year terms at the conclusion of the 12th February Annual General Meeting (AGM) are:
- Chris More – Meridian Energy (Board Member)
- Ryan Park – Contact Energy (Board Member)
- Tim Stringfield – Aurecon (Board Member)
- Alistair Tippett – Hiringa Energy (Board Member)
- Peter Spencer – JERA Nex bp (Board Member)
- Peter McCafferty – Beca (Chair position only)
The newly elected Board Members & Chairperson will join the following incumbent Board Members:
- Peter McCafferty – Beca
- Matthew Tolcher – Mercury NZ
- Paul Botha, Roaring40s Wind Power
Nominations are open to individuals representing Corporate, Senior Associate and Associate Member companies only. All elected Board Members must certify that they qualify as an Officer under the 2022 Incorporated Societies Act as outlined in Clause 12 of the NZWEA 2025 Constitution. Elections of all nominations received will be undertaken at the AGM scheduled for the 12th February 2026.
