From Gust to Gale: Building a Sustainable Wind Industry in New Zealand
8-9 April 2008, Te Papa, Wellington
Over 280 delegate, 31 exhibitors and 34 sponsors made 2008 NZ Wind Energy Conference a great success. We have a clear indication of government policy with the 90% target for renewable electricity generation. And at the conference we heard that not only is this target clearly achievable, but both the Labour and National Parties, as well as the Electricity Commission, support renewable electricity.
We know that more wind generation will be good for both New Zealand’s electricity security and environment. The challenge now is to ensure that the wind energy industry delivers these benefits to New Zealand.
NZWEA thanks its speakers, session chairs, sponsors and exhibitors for making the conference a success.
